McAuliffe Sports Snack and Allergen Awareness Policy

The health and safety of our McAuliffe Park players is a priority. To help create a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, families are asked to be mindful of food allergies and dietary sensitivities when bringing team snacks or treats to games and practices.

Snack Guidelines

Parents and guardians who choose to provide team snacks should prioritize healthy, simple options such as fruit, vegetables, applesauce, pretzels, or other individually packaged items.

To reduce the risk of allergic reactions, families are asked to avoid bringing snacks or treats containing peanuts, tree nuts, or dairy products for team sharing at games or practices.

Allergen Awareness

Because some players may have serious food allergies, the league asks all families to exercise caution and consideration when selecting shared snacks. While the league cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment, we ask that parents make every effort to choose snacks that are safe for the group and free from common allergens whenever possible.

Parent Responsibilities

• Review ingredient labels carefully before purchasing snacks to share with the team.
• Avoid homemade items unless ingredient contents can be clearly confirmed.
• Do not send any snack containing peanuts, tree nuts, or dairy for team distribution.
• If your child has a food allergy or dietary restriction, please notify your coach and team manager at the beginning of the season.

Team Communication

Coaches and team managers are encouraged to remind families of this policy at the start of each season and before snack schedules are organized. If a team has a player with a known allergy, additional restrictions or precautions may be communicated to that team as needed.

By working together, we can promote healthy choices and help provide a safer environment for all players to enjoy the season.
